How to select an Internet service provider.
Although InterComm's prices are among the lowest, price
doesn't matter much if you can't connect or can't get help
when you need it. Here's how to check it out. You'll find
that InterComm shines in these areas.
1. Make a list of those companies that you are considering.
2. CHECK FOR BUSY SIGNALS. InterComm doesn't have busy
signals. For the other companies, call and ask for the
phone number that your computer should call (for us it is
332-3888). At busiest times (7:00 to 9:00 on Sunday, Monday
or Tuesday nights) pick up your phone and dial that number.
Does a modem answer or do you get a busy signal?
3. CHECK TECH SUPPORT AVAILABILITY. InterComm has real
people answer the phone. Call other companies' tech support
phone number at times you might be on the computer. Our
phone is 353-2600. Does a person answer, or do you get an
automated attendant that suggests you press "1" to wait or
press "2" to wait longer, etc?
4. PHYSICAL LOCATION: If you're thinking of paying for more
than a month at a time, do they have a physical location you
can go to if you want a refund? Ours is 434 S. Rock in
Sparks, open 7 days a week from at least 9am to 6pm.
Reno/Carson/Incline/Fernley 353-2600. Dayton/Minden/Gardnerville 283-0100
